In 1923 Warren and Austin Lamprey started Lamprey Brothers, a company selling coal, ice, and cord wood to the homes and businesses of the Seacoast of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Throughout the rest of the 1900s the company slowly but surely evolved until, by the turn of the new millennium, Lamprey Brothers was delivering oil, servicing heating and cooling systems, and generally keeping the local people and their buildings comfortable through the year—come rain or shine, heatwave or deep freeze.
Almost a century has passed since our doors first opened for business, and while the brothers may no longer be with us their legacy remains. We are, as ever, an energy company committed to giving the best to our customers. We are passionate about our work and proud of our heritage.
In the spring of 2010 we had a change of leadership. With 15 years’ experience in the industry, Guy Marshall came to Lamprey Brothers as its new president and owner, eager to bring new direction and vitality to this pillar of local business. With that impetus came a new name, reflecting not only where we came from, but also where we are and where we’re headed: Lamprey Energy.
